Chronicle Entry
Bio
A drow of bizarre fate—raised by Uthgardt barbarians, claimed by a priestess of Lliira, and now the eccentric owner of Marrowdraw’s Marrowworks in Neverwinter.
Neruun Marrowdraw likes to say he wasn’t born in the Grey Vale—he simply “woke up there,” which is a polite way of admitting he remembers almost nothing of his earliest years except darkness, screaming, and being punted down a hillside by something very large and very hairy. Fortunately, that “very hairy” creature turned out to be an Uthgardt tribesman who mistook young Neruun for a cursed goblin, tried to chase him off with a stick, slipped on shale, and accidentally adopted him out of shared humiliation. The tribe never fully agreed on whether Neruun was a good-luck charm, a bad omen, or some kind of divine prank, so they defaulted to the Uthgardt solution for everything: teach him to fight and see what happens. He took to it disturbingly well. While most Drow master the blade in elegant flourishes, Neruun fought like a shovel in a whirlwind—headfirst, unhinged, shouting battle hymns he learned from drunken berserkers. The tribe named him “Marrowdraw” after discovering he had a habit of collecting unusual bones from fallen foes “for artistic reasons.” No one wanted clarification. The twist came during a spring festival when a wandering priestess of Lliira—bright robes, bells, the whole joyful spectacle—arrived to uplift the grim Uthgardt. She took one look at Neruun dancing violently around a fire pit, bones rattling on cords around his neck, and declared him a “delightfully chaotic child of Joy.” He converted on the spot. Eventually, wanderlust and the inconvenient tendency of Uthgardt festivals to explode sent Neruun north. Neverwinter was rebuilding, alive, and full of interesting carcasses. Perfect. Now he runs Marrowdraw’s Marrowworks, a bone-gathering shop where he crafts charms, tools, and eerie decorations. Every bone has a story. Neruun insists most of them are only mildly cursed.
